Some days back my people received a mail from Frank Wu claiming that my company name being registering in China domains to verify there are no copyright issues in it and urging us to revert back. The moment I seeing the mail I suspect this could be scam so I did my search against it that’s why you’re seeing this post.

“Up to 2012 these scams were in peek; now they started again”

Some years ago, Asian companies have been forcing firms to register domain names in Asian Top-Level-Domains (TLDs). It is a kind of scam called“Slamming”, and is an illegal practice to deceive firms in order to sell unsolicited amenities. The slamming scam always begins with an email, written in English and addressed to the CEO of the targeted company. The hustler strains to contact the manager who is often ignorant of the rules related to domain names.

The mail which we received you can see below...

So what to do next

Never ever response to these mails.

Don't respond to these emails. Their aim is to try to convince you to register a lot of domain names you don't need, of course. Even if you breakdown contact before you get to the point of sending any money, though, responding at all confirms that yours is a good email address and that you might be inclined to respond to such contact in the future. You may get yourself on a phisher's or scammer's email address list, being sold to the highest bidder in one of the lowest trades on the Internet.
